The C.A.R.E.S., or Children are Reaching Excellence with Support, mentoring program provides opportunities for caring, responsible adults to support children in their community. An adult is paired with a student with whom they share similar hobbies and interests, as indicated in their application. Upon being paired, mentors are asked to make weekly visits to see their mentee in the C.A.R.E.S. classroom. The positive relationship enhances children’s social, academic, and personal development. The program is currently offered at Deer Creek and Leflore Promise Community schools.
