Delta Opioid Teens & Youth (DOT-Y) is the final element of the DOT initiative and deals exclusively with youth affected by opioid use disorders (OUDs). DOT-Y connects the youngest victims of the opioid crisis to desperately needed services by utilizing existing resources within the community and developing strategies to provide relief to area youth affected by OUDs in the Mississippi Delta. DOT-Y targets youth who are victims of child abuse, criminal neglect, assault, sexual abuse/assault, identity theft, exploitation, endangering the welfare of a child, human trafficking, and kidnapping resulting from drug and opioid abuse or illegal use.
Led by Delta Health Alliance, the DOT Y network represents a collaborative of health/mental health providers, judicial systems and law enforcement, school districts and childcare providers, and non-profit agencies which will provide a robust referral framework to join victims to services. The network partners are:
